Medical Director
Donald J. O'Connor, M.D. received his M.D. from George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He completed internship training at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and residency training at the Medical College of Virginia. He is board certified in Family Medicine. His background includes private medical practice, serving as a county medical examiner, and having been the Medical Director of a 60 bed nursing facility. In the last few years, he has served to meet the medical needs of patients at the Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute. His interest in aesthetic medicine arose during the course of his continuing medical education study, and he has worked with experienced practitioners of aesthetic medicine to perfect his knowledge and technique in the field.
Service Director
Doris Piccariello is a native of Mexico City and has lived in the U.S. for 32 years. She graduated with a degree in Linguistics from the University of Mexico, and also received a teaching license from that institution. Doris is a licensed Esthetician with three years' experience working for a spa in Ashburn, VA. Specializing in beauty and wellness, her mission is to provide an exemplary standard of care in making the resources of Vita Nova work for you.

Marla Wethington
Ms. Wethington is originally from West Virginia. She graduated from Career Training Solutions, Fredericksburg, VA in December 2008. She is a licensed esthetician. Ensuring that your visit with Vita Nova Medical Spa is a comfortable and memorable experience is her number one priority. Marla is excited to be part of the Vita Nova team, and looks forward to answering any questions you have about Vita Nova.
Laura Underwood
Ms. Underwood received her BSN at the University of North Florida, and has been practicing for 20 years. She joined the team at Vita Nova in February 2010. Ms. Underwood resides in Manassas with her husband and five children and enjoys working in her community.
Leona Bukartek
Ms. Bukartek received her BSN at Columbus State College in 1988. She married into the Army and has traveled and worked in Korea, Texas, Germany, Georgia and Hawaii. She and her family retired to Virginia in 2003. She is always attending classes and keeping up with the newest treatments. She recently completed the master level thread lift in Aug. 2010. This utilizes dermal fillers to achieve a mini face lift without surgery. Ms. Bukartek utilizes the holistic approach to her practice.
Kristin Hakala
Kristin Hakala joined the team at Vita Nova in October 2010. She graduated from the Aveda Institute in Washington, D.C. as an esthetician. Kristin is very excited to be a part of Vita Nova and looks forward to advanced education and training as well as providing excellent customer service and experiences for all clients. She is a native of Manassas and still lives there with her family and two dogs.
